If that has happened to you be sure to tie up all the loose ends before you go on the cruise. The reason is that a security check is done on all passengers when returning back to port. If for any reason there is an outstanding warrant for you the authorities will arrest you before you can leave the ship. I saw this happen to an elderly lady that had some problems with the law many years earlier. They announced her name over the public address system as if there was a message for her. When she went to get the message they took her away in a detective’s car that was waiting at the dock. They wouldn’t even let her get her luggage!
